Personal Statement...

Journey girls was born out of my passion to see girls make better choices and to go farther in life. In my role as a psychologist, I’ve talked to hundreds of girls about their circumstances, choices, and behaviors. In doing this, I discovered a passion for working with adolescent girls, meeting them where they stood, understanding their mindset and helping facilitate their journey to where they want to be. I saw most of these young ladies in therapy or in a detention center and recognized that they were at a crossroads in their life. Similarly, I work with many women who on a different level still deal with related issues (self esteem, relationship issues, family of origin problems, career guidance, etc). Journey Girls was designed to assist these young ladies in making appropriate choices by targeting the issues that many of the issues that adolescents (and women) encounter.
